Welcome to Liturgy.com, where we make planning music for liturgy easy.

In this tutorial, we will go over the various ways to add songs to an outline. If you haven't yet, make sure to watch the tutorial video on how to create an outline.

If you already know some of the songs you'd like to use for a specific celebration, one option is to add those specific songs to your Scratch Pad. You can do this by searching for those songs in the search bar at the top of the page.

Once on the Advanced Search page, you can filter by resource, season or topic to narrow down the search results. Once you've found the song you are looking for, click the Scratch Pad icon; then select the seasonal Scratch Pad for the celebration you're planning from the dropdown. Continue this process until you've added all the songs you'd like to your Scratch Pad.

To move the songs from your Scratch Pad into your outline, open up the outline that you're working on. On the right, you'll see your Scratch Pad with the songs you've just added. Drag and drop the songs into the desired liturgical moments.

If you're not sure which songs you'd like to use in the celebration, another way to add songs is to click the "add song" icon in the liturgical moment on your outline where you'd like to include a song.

The Select Song box will show you song suggestions from Today’s Liturgy by default. You may also choose to see suggestions from Liturgia y Canción or all of Liturgy.com. You can add any of these selections to your outline by clicking the add song icon.

By default, song suggestions will be limited to the hymnals and/or songbooks that you've selected as your parish's resources on the My Resources page, but below the list of songs is an option to select All Resources. From this box, you can also view and select the songs from your Scratch Pad or select a song from a previous outline or from your My Repertoire page.

Another option is to search for a specific song or composer in the search bar at the bottom of the box. If you’re still not finding what you are looking for try browsing in Advanced Search. Since you came to Advanced Search from your outline this time, you can add the song directly back into the slot you came from by clicking the Add song icon. Or you can add it to your Scratch Pad if you want to save it for later.

If you're still not finding a song, you can click the "Add a song not listed" button at the bottom of the search page. This will open a screen where you can enter the title, composer and song number of any song not in the Liturgy.com catalog. Clicking save will add this song in the liturgical moment you were on when you clicked Add Song originally.
